S.P.A. Highlight: College Ambassadors: Student Leaders Shaping College Counseling

The Scottsdale Prep College Ambassadors are a select group of student leaders who are helping shape the future of College Counseling at S.P.A. Meeting every other Thursday during Lyceum, these students serve as an advisory board for the College Counseling Department, bringing their ideas, questions, and perspectives directly to our team.
Because our students are the ones experiencing the college process firsthand, their perspective is invaluable. During our meetings, Ambassadors share feedback about what information students find most helpful, brainstorm new ways to engage the student body, and offer ideas for making college resources and opportunities more accessible to their peers. Their input helps College Counseling better understand the needs and interests of our students and allows us to develop programming that is truly student-centered.
Our College Ambassadors have also stepped up in a big way to welcome college representatives to campus. More than 50 colleges have visited Scottsdale Prep over the past month, giving our students opportunities to learn about colleges from all over the country, academic programs, campus communities, and post-secondary possibilities. Our Ambassadors have played an important role in making these visits successful by greeting representatives, offering refreshments, attending presentations, promoting upcoming visits, and helping our guests feel at home on our campus.
Beyond college representative visits, Ambassadors will also have opportunities to contribute to the College Counseling community by writing for S.P.A. Highlights and other College Counseling communications. Students can share reflections from college visits, helpful resources, advice for their peers, and topics they believe are important to the Scottsdale Prep community. These experiences allow students to develop communication and leadership skills while helping other students navigate the college process.
Most importantly, the College Ambassadors are helping to build a stronger student-led culture at Scottsdale Prep. Their leadership, creativity, and willingness to share their voices make them an important part of our College Counseling program. We are excited to see the ideas they bring forward and the ways they continue to make a difference for their fellow students and our visiting college representatives.
We are incredibly grateful for this group of students who have chosen to step up, get involved, and help make College Counseling an even stronger resource for our Scottsdale Prep community! To find more information about becoming a College Ambassador, check out more information here.
