Scottsdale Prep crestAcademic life at Scottsdale Prep is challenging, yet it begins with wonder.

Middle-school students encounter the great stories of the West for the first time: Odysseus steering past the Sirens, Plutarch’s portraits of civic courage, and Euclid’s Elements opening their minds to proof and precision. These years are intentionally scaffolded; grammar and logic are internalized through lively recitation and hands-on demonstrations, setting the stage for deeper inquiry later on. By high school, the curriculum expands into an honors-level sequence that rivals private institutions: four years of literature and Humane Letters, advanced mathematics through calculus, laboratory sciences grounded in original texts, and either Latin or Spanish through the upper divisions. Graduates routinely post SAT scores hundreds of points above state and national averages, and the Class of 2024 earned more than ten million dollars in merit-based scholarships—evidence that a classical track prepares students for any college, any major, and any profession.

Yet Scottsdale Prep refuses to measure success by transcripts alone.

The heart of the program is virtue education woven quietly into everything: the patience required to master a Euclidean proof, the courage to deliver an unflinching speech, the temperance that comes from balanced study and leisure, and the justice practiced when older students mentor sixth-graders through the Spartan House system.
